“Science communication with a focus on the climate crisis”

As a science communication master’s student at the University of California, Santa Cruz, I write stories about new scientific discoveries and the climate crisis that center equity and justice. I have published articles in local news outlets — like KQED, The Mercury News, Monterey Herald and Point Reyes Light — and also in national and international publications, such as Science, Eos, Civil Eats and Mongabay.

ABSTRACT

As a science communication master’s student at the University of California, Santa Cruz, I write stories about the climate crisis and new scientific discoveries across a wide range of disciplines. I have published articles in local news outlets — The Mercury News and Point Reyes Light — and in national and international publications, such as Science, Eos, Civil Eats and Mongabay. With my renowned professors, I have studied science news, multimedia, data and investigative journalism. As an intern for the Monterey Herald, the daily newspaper covering Monterey County, I wrote a collection of climate change pieces. During my last two quarters of the program, I am producing daily radio stories about the climate and health as an intern for KQED, an NPR and PBS member station for the San Francisco Bay Area.
